Privacy Policy
Last updated: 11 October 2026. Short version: your money data stays on your phone.
1. What UPI Speaker does
UPI Speaker listens for UPI payment notifications and SMS alerts on your Android device and announces them aloud in your chosen language. It also keeps an on-device history of announced payments.
2. What we access — and why
- Notifications / SMS: to detect payment credits and announce them. Only transaction-related text is used.
- Phone state / background run: to keep announcements working when the screen is off.
- Storage (on-device): payment history and settings are stored locally on your phone.
3. What we never touch
- Your bank account, balance or statements.
- Your UPI PIN or any password/OTP.
- Anything beyond payment alerts — no contacts harvesting, no ad profiling.
4. What leaves your phone
Parsing happens on-device. Only anonymised, redacted samples (long digit runs masked) may be shared to improve detection accuracy — never raw account numbers, names or PINs.
5. Permissions you can revoke
Notification access and SMS permissions can be revoked anytime in Android Settings; the app will simply stop announcing until re-enabled. Uninstalling removes locally stored data.
6. Children
The app is a business utility for merchants and is not directed at children under 13.
